Frylight Reduces Bottle Weight As Part Of Sustainability Drive

Saputo Dairy’s cooking spray brand Frylight has reduced the weight of its bottles by 9% as part of a drive to become more sustainable.

Frylight-bottlesThe design change is aimed at lowering the brand’s carbon footprint within both production and logistics. The initiative is expected to remove around 20 tonnes of plastic from its supply chain.

The move follows previous brand initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint across transportation, logistics and production, including the reduction of unnecessary plastic from its cap in 2017, removing shrink-wrap packaging, and improving pallet configuration.

Emily Wyborn, Frylight innovation lead, said: “Sustainability remains a priority for consumers and they expect their favourite brands to step up and offer more environmentally-friendly options. By reducing the amount of plastic in each bottle of Frylight by 9%, we are proud to be removing 20 tonnes of plastic from the supply chain per annum, the equivalent of 900k fewer Frylight plastic bottles being produced per annum.

“We have led the category in terms of sustainability and continue to work hard on our innovation pipeline, keeping our environmental impact top of mind, whilst still delivering convenient and versatile products to our consumers.”
