Aldi Seeking Staff For New Stores

Aldi is expecting to create 1,600 new store roles across the UK this year as part of its £650m investment programme.

The discounter currently has more than 1,050 stores, with it targeting around 30 openings in total during 2025 – a similar number to last year.

Roles it will be recruiting for include Store Managers, Assistant Store Managers, Deputy Store Managers, Store Assistants and Cleaners.

New stores that are planned to open in the coming weeks include March in Cambridgeshire, Moston in Greater Manchester and Lytham in Lancashire.

Aldi recently announced a pay rise for Store Assistants from March, with hourly rates increasing to at least £12.71, and £14.00 within the M25, maintaining its position as the best paying supermarket in the UK.

“Our store colleagues are the best in the business, and as we continue to expand our store network and provide more customers with access to Aldi’s high-quality, affordable products, we’re going to need to grow those store teams with even more amazing people,” said Kelly Stokes, HR Director at Aldi UK.

“We are committed to creating rewarding careers and offering market-leading pay for all our store colleagues. This year promises to be an exciting year as we bring even more Aldi stores to local communities across Britain.”

NAM Implications:
  • 1,600 new store roles…
