Hope has also held senior positions at AF Blakemore & Son, BAKO Northwestern, Iceland, and Co-op. At Parfetts, she will report to the joint Managing Directors, Noel Robinson and Guy Swindell.

Former Trading Director, Gurms Athwal, left the business earlier this month.

Hope said: “Parfetts has a fantastic reputation with retailers, suppliers and the wider industry. It is great to join the team and support the national expansion plans through strong, collaborative supplier relationships. The employee-ownership model of the company sets it apart from the rest of the industry, and you can feel the difference when you meet people from across the business. It’s exciting times ahead.”

Swindell added: “Cheryl is a hugely experienced professional with a fantastic understanding of the sector. She’s ideally placed to support our ambitious growth plans and take our focus on supporting retailer margins to the next level.”

Parfetts recently announced that it is spreading its footprint to the south of England after securing a site for its ninth depot. The company will open the new 113,000 sq. ft. depot in Southampton later this year. It will allow Parfetts to deliver across the south coast and into Greater London while also serving cash & carry depot customers from across the region. The move is expected to support the expansion of its symbol groups, which include Go Local, Go Local Extra, The Local, and Shop & Go.

Recently posted accounts show Parfetts delivered record sales in its last financial year, boosted by a new depot in Birmingham and robust demand at its seven other sites
