Haleon And GenM Partner To Make Menopause More Visible

This Women’s Health Month, consumer health company Haleon has joined the GenM Collective – the Menopause Partner for Brands and Home of the MTick – to transform the shopping experience through the creation of a new retail category that makes menopause more visible in stores and online.

Haleon-GenM

15.5 million women in the UK are currently experiencing menopause, yet when it comes to the menopause industry, 87% of women report feeling overlooked and underserved. Research shows that 94% of women want to shop menopause-friendly labelled products, and yet two-thirds (66%) say they are difficult to find.

Haleon has earned the MTick certification for its Centrum and Voltarol product ranges, which target key signs and symptoms of the menopause, including joint pain, fatigue, nail changes and loss of bone density.

Centrum’s Women 50+, Advance 50+, Women 30s and Women 60s supplements meet MTick criteria by virtue of their compliance with EFSA‑approved health claims, appropriate functional ingredient inclusion, and alignment with the nutritional needs of menopausal and peri‑/post‑menopausal women.

Voltarol’s Joint & Back and Back & Muscle gels meet the MTick certification criteria as authorised medicinal products with proven efficacy, safety and relevance to menopausal women who may experience musculoskeletal discomfort during the menopause transition.

The demand for menopause-friendly solutions continues to grow, with the number of shoppers purchasing menopause-related products hitting a record high in 2024.

The MTick – a universal shopping symbol and certification for menopause-friendly products – empowers menopausal women to shop with confidence, transforming the way they search, source and shop for products that can ease, relieve or support any of the 48 menopause signs.

The MTick is only displayed on products that meet the strict qualifying criteria of this certification.

Working together, GenM and Haleon aim to drive awareness of the signs and symptoms of menopause and ensure that menopausal women are more empowered to achieve better everyday health.

Jo Cooper, General Manager, Haleon UK & Ireland, said: “Haleon is extremely proud to announce our partnership with GenM, with our trusted and familiar brands Voltarol and Centrum receiving the MTick.

“I am passionate about ensuring that we can empower women with choice to help manage signs and symptoms of menopause. Combining Haleon’s trusted science and deep human understanding, with the power and reach of GenM’s collective, will result in an impactful collaboration to help drive change and choice for women across the UK.”

Heather Jackon, CEO & GenM Founder, added: “We are so proud that the globally respected Haleon business joins more than 120 brands in the GenM collective, committed to empowering women through choice and trust – to understand, support and serve those in menopause better. With 48 signs of menopause, the menopause can impact every aspect of a woman’s life – and rather than overwhelming her, through the MTick she can be signposted to trusted products that can make the experience of menopause better today than yesterday.

“It is these small changes that can make a huge difference to a woman’s lived experience of menopause. United with the MTick, Haleon and GenM are delivering trust, choice and visibility to menopause, truly transforming the menopause shopping experience and driving the growth of a purposeful new retail category.”
