Boots Expanding Wellness Offer

Boots has revealed that it is expanding its wellness range to meet growing consumer demand for products that support health and beauty goals.

Absolute-Collagen-BootsThe retailer is adding 18 new brands and 300 products to its wellness range this summer, with the likes of Absolute Collagen, The Nue Co, RUCI, Hair Gain, Smart Strains and Air Up rolling out in its stores. Tik-Tok favourites Humantra and Selfish have also launched exclusively in Boots this week.

The expanded range follows the retailer’s recent launch of two new own-brand wellness ranges – HABI and Modern Chemistry – which are both supplement and skincare ranges.

“It is such an exciting time for wellness at Boots,” said Kirstie Thorley-Mitchell, Head of Wellness at Boots.

“Evolving quicker than ever before, we’re seeing huge demand from customers for products to support their health and beauty goals from the inside out. All our new wellness products are carefully selected and curated – we’re looking closely at what is trending on social media platforms like TikTok, as well as products that are highly efficacious.

“Alongside these exciting new brands are our new own brands, HABI and Modern Chemistry, which are great examples of where health meets beauty in one holistic brand offering, featuring supplementation alongside skincare.”

NAM Implications:
  • Boots is patently firing on all cylinders…
  • …despite uncertainties re future ownership.
  • Whatever the outcome:
    • Refloat
    • Takeover
    • Retention by Walgreens
  • The continuing momentum and bottom-line improvement will help in retaining good staff.
  • Incidentally, given the new PE ownership…
  • …a refloat is unlikely (takes too long to build 4-5 years of good results).
  • Retention by Walgreens would not add sufficient improvement to the total group.
  • Our money is therefore on a sale of Boots to a third party…
