Plant-based bakery brand OGGS has announced the launch of a new range of cakes in Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Asda, and Ocado. The move follows a brand refresh and recipe revitalisation aimed at attracting new consumers.
OGGS describes itself as an ethical bakery, standing apart with its commitment to offering entirely plant-based treats packaged in recycled plastic trays and lower-carbon alternative ingredients, switching butter for oils and eggs for aquafaba.
OGGS conducted a customer survey in January, gathering insights into branding ideas and product desires. The result is a refreshed brand identity that balances “fun, playfulness, and a touch of elegance”, reflected in newly designed packaging and upgraded, sustainably sourced recipes.
As part of the relaunch, OGGS is introducing five new ethical products to its range, which includes its first foray into the celebration cakes category.
- Afternoon Tea Selection
- Zesty Lemon Cakes
- Mega Birthday Cupcakes
- Two Luxury Celebration Cakes
- Raspberry Ripple Cupcakes
Hannah Carter, CEO and Founder of OGGS, commented: “We’ve always believed that doing good shouldn’t mean compromising on taste or quality. Listening to our incredible customers has been at the heart of this journey, and we’re so proud to unveil products that not only taste amazing but are kind to the planet too. With the addition of our new Celebration Cakes, there truly is an ethical cake for every occasion.”
