Meat Alternative Brand ‘Like’ Set For UK Launch With Tesco

Award-winning plant-based protein brand ‘Like’ will enter the UK market next month, with three products launching in Tesco.

With its focus on a younger demographic, Like aims to appeal to consumers open to alternative forms of protein as a way to reduce their meat consumption.

The range includes Like Hot Dogs, Like Chicken Burger and Like Popcorn Chicken, which will be available in the freezer section in Tesco stores from 8th September (RSP: £2.75), followed by Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Asda and Iceland.

Like-plant-based-Tesco“Gen Z flexitarians are an important consumer segment in the meat-free category and with its bold, impactful look, feel and appetite appeal, combined with our exciting marketing plans, Like brand is well placed to engage this audience,” said Emma Herring, UK Marketing Manager at LIVEKINDLY Collective.

“Like recipes are HFSS compliant, high in protein, low in saturated fat and a source of fibre. With sustainability KPI’s, the retailers also welcomed the news that all Like packaging is fully recyclable.”

She concluded: “We believe we have found a sweet spot in this category, ticking taste and health credentials, two key drivers for attracting a younger audience, but at a more accessible price point than other taste-led brands in the category.”
