Thatchers Cider is launching its classic Thatchers Vintage range in a can format.
Thatchers Vintage is the fastest-growing established premium cider, up 104.4% in the last two years (NIQ – Value 09/08/25). The addition of cans reflects growing consumer demand for premium cider in a more versatile, portable and sustainable format.
The cider maker stated that the 440ml can retains all the elegance of Thatchers Vintage in a modern design, “ideal for premium drinking occasions”.
Compared to traditional glass packaging, the can format also offers consumers a more sustainable option, as it is easier to recycle, lighter to transport, and reduces carbon emissions across the supply chain. Additionally, it is more efficient to chill, thereby cutting energy use.
“This is a timeless cider, with a depth of character and refined taste that offers a full-bodied, sophisticated drink made with absolute dedication to quality,” said Martin Thatcher, fourth-generation cidermaker. “By introducing it in cans, we’re giving cider lovers more ways to enjoy this exceptional drink, while maintaining a premium experience.”
The Premium cider category has a loyal and strong consumer base, with growth of 23.7% over the last year (NIQ – Premium Cider – Value 09/08/25).
