Chocomel Rolling Out New Bottle Format Following Trial

Chocolate drink brand Chocomel is switching from a 250ml can to a 300ml bottle across all channels. The rollout of the bottle follows the success of a limited trial in the first half of this year.

Chocomels 300ml bottleThe new packaging follows independent research that found the resealable bottle variant to be the most desired format among consumers, thereby enhancing the Chocomel drinking experience by offering greater flexibility and convenience for various occasions, including on-the-go use. With 65% of all soft drinks bought for on-the-go occasions, the shift to a bottle format is projected to drive a 28% sales increase.

Gabriella Sudall, Marketing Manager at FrieslandCampina, commented: “We have seen Chocomel grow quickly, with a 225% increase in value sales over the past three years, now valued at £10.3m in retail sales value. This packaging evolution offers a clear advantage for retailers, enabling them to further capitalise on the brand’s strong sales momentum. The new, larger bottle also provides enhanced visibility and presence on shelf, acting as a clear visual cue for shoppers and encouraging increased basket spend.”

The new pack change will be supported with marketing activity over the next year across all channels, including an ATL campaign in 2026. Chocomel’s 300ml format is rolling out in Tesco and Sainsbury’s, as well as in major wholesalers and distributors (RRP £1.70).
