Walgreens Boots Alliance is set to lose the services of Lauren Brindley, its Group VP for Beauty and Personal Care.
Brindley has held the post since 2015, prior to which she spent 12 years at the Boots chain in the UK. She has also previously worked at Tesco. She is set to step down as of end-July 2022.
In a statement, Brindley termed it a “personal decision” as she takes up “an external opportunity” (she did not specify the nature of her new appointment). Reflecting on her time at WBA, she noted: “I am so proud of what the team have been able to accomplish together over the last six years…launching hundreds of new brands, elevating 3,000 beauty departments in Walgreens stores across the country, accelerating our digital business and building out our unique beauty consultant programme”.
She will be succeeded by Heather Hughes, who has been with Walgreens more than 20 years, most recently as Group VP of General Merchandise. Luke Rauch, Senior VP and Chief Merchandising Officer at Walgreens, noted: “Heather is a decisive leader who most recently oversaw Walgreens’ strategy to develop and curate a better-for-you grocery assortment.”
