Pernod Ricard Completes Sale Of Wine Portfolio To Owner Of Accolade Wine

Pernod Ricard has completed the sale of its portfolio of international wines to Australian Wine Holdco Limited (AWL), a consortium of investors and owner of Accolade Wines.

The transaction, which was first announced in July last year, will result in the creation of a new global wine company called Vinarchy.

The brands that have been sold for an undisclosed sum include Jacob’s Creek, Orlando and St Hugo from Australia, Brancott Estate, Stoneleigh and Church Road from New Zealand, and Campo Viejo, Ysios, Tarsus and Azpilicueta from Spain, along with seven wineries.

Pernod Ricard will continue to distribute the portfolio for a few months as it transitions to AWL.

The disposal is part of the French firm’s “premiumisation strategy” and will allow it to focus its resources on its portfolio of international spirits and champagne brands, which are its main growth drivers.

AWL acquired Accolade Wines, which owns brands such as Hardys Wines, Jam Shed and Banrock Station, at the start of 2024 after a difficult period for the Australian wine producer.
