Gut health brand Bio&Me is expanding its porridge range with the addition of two protein-boosted Porridge+ Pots.
The two new pots are rolling out in Sainsbury’s in Blueberry and Caramel flavours, with an RRP of £1.30/65g pot.
Launched in response to consumer demand for protein-rich food, the new variants deliver just over 12g of protein per pot and are aimed at those consumers looking for a convenient energy-fuelled breakfast or snack.
The Blueberry and Caramel variants contain up to nine plant-based foods, including almonds, brown linseed, dates, carrots, and sunflower seeds. The pots also contain no added sugars, artificial sweeteners or emulsifiers.
In line with Bio&Me’s B Corp commitments, the pots feature a PEFC certified paper pot, while the lid remains recyclable aluminium. The rest of Bio&Me’s porridge pot range switched over to paper pots at the end of 2024.
Jon Walsh, Bio&Me co-founder and CEO, said: “Our current porridge pots are already striking the right chord with consumers, delivering +91% growth, and we hope these new protein pots will further elevate the range. Furthermore, reducing the amount of plastic waste we produce is of utmost importance to us as a business, so we’re pleased to be making this sustainable shift into paper pots, helping simplify the recycling process for shoppers, as well as being planet kind too. Overall, the Bio&Me business is performing incredibly well, with retail sales up 112% year on year, as consumers increasingly look to prioritise their health.”
