Personal care startup Bob has unveiled what it claims is the world’s first refillable hard body wash. The innovation offers a sustainable alternative to liquid body wash and traditional soap bar products and is entering the personal care category with a wash bar designed specifically for men.
The refillable applicator incorporates medical-grade bristles and holds a bespoke body wash bar, combining washing with exfoliating. The Shower Pack, which includes the Bob Applicator, two Bob Bar Refills, and the Shower Mount, is available to purchase from its website at £21.00, with refill packs available via subscription from £7.00 per month.
Pre-launch, the brand gained significant traction, with over 3,000 pre-orders and nearly 10,000 newsletter subscribers.
As the amount of plastic waste generated by bottled body washes continues to grow, combined with the fact that liquid soaps are mostly 70% water, the founders Mike Brennan, Will Richards and Max Agace developed the product to offer the male body wash market a fresh solution.
Brennan said: “We are thrilled to introduce the world to Bob. After 18 months of development, countless showers and trips around the world to finalise the manufacturing process, we are confident that we’ve come up with a soap–erior solution within a market inundated with inconvenient packaging and products not made with the male consumer in mind. We look forward to seeing how Bob transforms the shower routines of men, whether at home or on-the-go.”
