Boots has launched its own wellness range that includes nine ingredient-led and science-backed supplements, with a skincare line set to be added later this year.
The Modern Chemistry brand has been developed by the retailer’s in-house team of pharmacists, doctors, nutritionists, biochemists and cosmetic chemists.
Products in the range feature science-backed formulations with high potency – powered by highly concentrated and naturally sourced extracts – and high bioavailability, for ease and speed of use by the body. Some of the products in the range are also specially formulated to be easily digestible and gentle on the stomach.
For example, Modern Chemistry Ashwagandha KSM-66 Capsules feature a clinically studied form of ashwagandha known for its high potency and bioavailability, and complementary vitamins like Thiamin to help boost energy and Pantothenic Acid to support mental performance.
Some other products in the range, including the Liposomal Vitamin B12 Drops and Liposomal Vitamin C Drops, use liposomal technology to support the delivery of nutrients around the body.
In July, Boots will expand the Modern Chemistry range to include ingredient-led and efficacious skincare products.
Joe Thorley-Mitchell, Director of Boots Brand, said: “Modern Chemistry represents a new era of wellness at Boots as we continue to evolve our trusted brand 176 years after our founder, John Boot, opened a herbalist shop in Nottingham to sell medicinal herbal remedies.
“Our unrivalled heritage as a chemist means that Boots is uniquely placed to combine the art of analytical chemistry with the science of sensory formulation. Some of our very best minds have worked meticulously to create simple yet effective products that deliver the best results at surprisingly affordable prices. This is a high-performance range that we’re seriously proud of and couldn’t be more excited for customers to be discovering wellness in this way with us.”
The Modern Chemistry supplement range is priced at between £8.50 and £15 and is rolling out in Boots stores and online.
NAM Implications:
- Despite recent uncertainties re ownership going forward…
- …in an uncertain world…
- ….Boots have patently been pursuing lines of research and development.
- Playing to its unique (for a retailer) strengths and credibility via its in-house team of pharmacists, doctors, nutritionists, biochemists and cosmetic chemists.
- i.e. now launching a comprehensive stable of products that can be marketed directly to its public in an accessible package.
- Watch this one go…
