Mondelēz International has made Cadbury chocolate into a sauce for drizzling over desserts.
Cadbury Chocolate Topping Sauce is now available in 950g recyclable bottles at an RRP of £6.99. Each bottle typically contains at least 60 servings.
Mondelēz noted that the opportunity for branded sauces was significant, with a growing number of retailers having dessert bars in-store. In addition, desserts are a growing trend across the market in line with consumers’ demand for special treats.
“This is a truly incremental opportunity for retailers to encourage shoppers to trade up and add more special treats to their baskets,” said Lorena Moyano, brand manager for Cadbury in the away-from-home channel at Mondelēz International.
“Whether it’s drizzled over desserts such as ice cream, cakes and cheesecakes or used as a topping for milkshakes and hot chocolates, Cadbury Chocolate Topping Sauce offers the nation’s favourite chocolate brand in a unique squeezable format.”
