Cathedral City Meal Range Rolling Out In Tesco And Morrisons

Cathedral City and its manufacturing partner Oscar Mayer have announced the wider rollout of their cheesy chilled meals range following a year of strong sales.

Cathedral-City-Cheesy-mashed-potatoTwelve months on since Cathedral City’s first ever chilled meals launched in Sainsbury’s, followed by listings in Asda, Waitrose and Spar, the range is now rolling out across Morrisons and Tesco stores.

Cathedral City’s chilled meals have generated over £7m in value sales to become the third-largest brand within the Chilled Ready Meals category, with over two million units sold to date, and three million units predicted to be sold by the end of the year with increased distribution.

The range has helped to attract consumers upgrading from standard-tier products, with 65% of sales incremental. In Sainsbury’s alone, 1.4 million units have been sold to more than 425k shoppers, with a 32% repeat purchase rate.

The eight-product range includes a Lasagne, Cottage Pie, Chicken & Bacon Pasta Bake and Macaroni Cheese, with additional products launching later this year.
