Frozen pizza brand Chicago Town has unveiled a new plant-based addition to its Deep Dish range in partnership with vegan food brand Squeaky Bean.
The Deep Dish Vegan BBQ Chick’n pizza combines the Chicago Town Deep Dish base with the brand’s smokey BBQ sauce, vegan mozzarella and smoked gouda, topped off with Squeaky Bean’s chicken-style pieces, red peppers and sweetcorn.
The new pizza is launching in Tesco and Farmfoods stores this week (RRP £3.05).
Rachel Bradshaw, Marketing Manager at Chicago Town, said: “We know that our vegan consumers are extremely motivated by new and exciting plant-based flavours, as well as looking to Chicago Town for exciting new pizza experiences.
“We are delighted to be working with Squeaky Bean to deliver this new tasty vegan Deep Dish to our plant-based customers. They’ve been a great partner to collaborate with in creating this exciting new vegan product.
Rebecca Youseman, Marketing Controller at Squeaky Bean, which is part of The Compleat Food Group, added: “At Squeaky Bean, we’re on a mission to create delicious plant-based meat alternatives that delight meat-reducers, vegetarians, and vegans alike. This is something we’ve succeeded in with our category-leading ready to eat range, but we’re always looking at how we can offer even more choice for consumers, so that we can make eating vegan as tasty as possible.
“This is why we’re thrilled to be working with Chicago Town on their latest plant-based pizza, which perfectly combines their incredible Deep Dish crust and toppings with our tasty chicken-style pieces for the ultimate vegan comfort food. We’re excited to introduce more people to our products and prove that meat-free alternatives can match, if not taste even better, than their meat equivalents.”
