Seep is now available in 551 Tesco stores, making it the first national supermarket to stock a dedicated range of eco-friendly cleaning tools.
The listing is part of Tesco’s 2024 Accelerator Programme, which saw Seep, and 15 other small brands, listed as part of the retailer’s commitment to champion new brands.
Seep offers a range of eco-friendly, compostable and recyclable cleaning tools, with the aim of preventing one billion plastic cleaning products, such as microfibre cloths and plastic sponges, from ending up in landfill by 2030.
Tesco has listed three of Seep’s bestselling items: the single sponge scourer, bamboo cloth, and medium-sized Fairtrade latex rubber gloves.
Seep was founded in lockdown by Laura Harnett as she was frustrated at the lack of eco-friendly cleaning tools to go with the wide range of cleaning sprays and detergents readily available.
She said: “Tesco’s leadership in sustainability is a game changer. By becoming the first national retailer to stock an eco-cleaning tool range, they’re helping us accelerate our mission and educate more consumers about reducing plastic waste in their homes.”
“Seep continues to drive change in the cleaning industry, offering high-performance, sustainable alternatives that benefit both the planet and consumers.”
