Higgidy has partnered with comedian and presenter Judi Love to create a limited-edition pie. The braised beef and butter bean pie in a rich beef gravy with spicy scotch bonnet pepper was created by Judi and Higgidy’s culinary team.
In Autumn last year, Judi spent a day cooking and tasting with the Higgidy team. Whilst she learnt about Higgidy’s new 200g pie range, Higgidy learned about Judi’s Caribbean heritage and experimented with recipes to create the new pie.
The limited edition pie (200g) will be available at Sainsbury’s from 22nd January to 8th April 2025 and will retail at £3.75.
Judi commented: “I have loved working with Higgidy over the past two years, and I’m so excited that our pie is available to buy at Sainsbury’s. I hope my and Higgidy’s fans will love the recipe as much as I do. It’s comforting, moreish and has a bit of a Judi kick! I can’t wait to see it on shelves!”
News of the launch comes ahead of National Pie Day on 23 January. To mark the event, Higgidy is opening its first ever ‘Pop Up Pie Shop’ at 27 Goodge Street, London, with all pies sold for just £2 each.
