Iceland has brought back its 1p online sale to help cash-strapped families through the summer holidays.
The frozen food retailer’s Holiday 1p Helpers promotion will run until 11 August and see selected items reduced to 1p for 24 hours.
The first products to feature in the offer include chicken dippers (usually £3.75), bacon (£2.30) and Kit Kat chocolate bars (£2.50).
Each day, Iceland will release a code on its Instagram account and app that customers can use at checkout to receive a discounted price.
Iceland Executive Chairman, Richard Walker, commented: “We know how tough it can be to feed the family during the summer.
“We wanted to make more items accessible for our shoppers and ease the stress when it comes to doing the weekly shop by giving unbeatable value on some of the nation’s favourite fridge and freezer fillers.
“There’s no catch, just shop via the Iceland app and use the code – it couldn’t be easier.”
Last month, Iceland told bondholders that it was on track to deliver its highest profit in over a decade, thanks partly to its success in attracting cash-strapped shoppers. The retailer has rolled out several initiatives to boost its appeal during the cost of living crisis, including price freeze campaigns, discounts for people aged 60, and interest-free loans.
NAM Implications:
- Certainly an eye/headline-catcher.
- One to watch…
