Japan’s Leading Coffee Brand Rolling Out In Morrisons

Ueshima Coffee Company, Japan’s leading coffee brand, has expanded its presence in the UK market by securing a listing with Morrisons.

Ueshima_Coffee_CompanyThe expansion will see Ueshima’s products sold in 250 Morrisons stores from this month, with its three blends – Tokyo Roast, Fuji Mountain, and House Blend – available in whole beans, ground coffee and coffee capsules.

The move into Morrisons follows the company’s launch into the UK market in 2021 when it secured listings in Sainsbury’s and Waitrose. The move into Morrisons comes on the heels of Ueshima announcing its new product line-up, including a Fairtrade decaf and three new speciality coffee beans.

Kirsty Pavely, Marketing Controller at Ueshima, UCC, commented: “This latest deal with Morrisons marks a significant milestone for us and reinforces our dedication to introducing authentic, high-quality Japanese coffee to the UK market. We’ve seen a strong demand for our at-home coffee range, and we are thrilled to extend the availability even further with this nationwide rollout.”

NAM Implications:
  • Given its UK launch in February 2021 (Sansbury’s & Waitrose)…
  • …and now a listing in Morrisons…
  • …this is a slow and careful roll-out.
  • But given this is a well-established brand launched in 1933…
  • …Ueshima Coffee should not be underestimated.
  • Worth a look…
