Leading Australian RTD Coffee Brand Launching In Tesco

Hunt And Brew, Australia’s leading ready-to-drink (RTD) speciality coffee brand, will officially launch in the UK on 28 July with a listing in Tesco.

Hunt-and-brew-coffeeThe brand’s range of RTD coffees will initially be available in Tesco Express stores, with a wider rollout across the retailer’s main stores planned for September.

Hunt And Brew specialises in offering single-origin coffee with fresh milk and nothing else added. Its launch in Australia seven years ago is said to have disrupted the category, offering a premium coffee experience in RTD format for the first time to rival the artisanal coffee shop offering.

Hunt And Brew is launching three cold brew coffee variants in the UK (330ml) – Brazil Coffee, Ethiopia Coffee (black, dairy-free) and Colombia Coffee – priced at £3.45 (RRP).

The brand pointed to a YouGov survey that showed 74% of UK coffee drinkers don’t buy RTD coffee because the current products available do not replicate what you would get from a coffee shop, with 30% saying that added sugar was the main reason. An independent study commissioned by Hunt And Brew identified an opportunity to deliver an incremental £70m RSV (retail sales value) to the RTD Coffee category by attracting new customers who are seeking a real, no-added-sugar proposition.

Doni Savvides, Chief Growth Officer at Hunt And Brew, commented: “We’re really excited to introduce Hunt And Brew to UK coffee lovers, especially at a time when we know there’s a coffee culture shift and growing demand for a convenient yet high-quality coffee option.

“There are many well-founded preconceptions about RTD coffee being full of sugars or sweeteners, and we’re here to shake things up. Our commitment to real coffee and clean ingredients sets us apart, and launching in Tesco is a dream come true for us. We know the absence of added sugar, sweeteners, or any other nasties appeals not only to real coffee drinkers, but to health-conscious consumers, and we can’t wait for people to try our brews.”

Alongside the national listing in Tesco, Hunt And Brew is planning to launch on Ocado and in independents, delis, and coffee shops.
