LEON, the healthier fast-food chain, is expanding its grocery range with a move into the microwave rice category.
Taking inspiration from its popular rice boxes that launched in its restaurants in 2004, LEON’s Spicy Microwave Rice and Herbed Microwave Rice (240g, £1.80) will be available in ready-to-heat pouches.
Suitable for vegans, each pouch contains two servings, and in line with the wider LEON grocery range, contain no artificial ingredients.
The LEON Microwave Rice will be available in Sainsbury’s from 29 October, with an introductory promotion of £1.50.
Ashley Davis, Managing Director of LEON Grocery, said: “Fibre-full wholegrain rice and grains have been at the heart of the LEON restaurant menu since 2004, in our year-round bestselling Rice Boxes. This launch into microwaveable rice takes a signature LEON dish and flavours and makes them even more accessible, allowing even more people to eat well, live well and be kind to the planet.”
Following the launch of the GFC Nuggets back in September, the latest offering brings the LEON Grocery range to 24 products across ambient and frozen categories.
