Nomadic Creates New Chilled Snack Category

Convenience food brand Nomadic is claiming to have launched a new category in chilled snacking with the introduction of its Yogurt & Oat Bar.

Nomadic Yogurt & Oat BarThe 28g bar (£1.50), a soft oat base topped with yogurt and encased in a dark chocolate layer, is said to be the first chilled bar of its kind in the UK.

The brand noted that such bars have long been a staple of chiller cabinets on mainland Europe. More recently, they have become popular in America among consumers seeking healthier snacks.

Described by Nomadic as “dessert in a bar and a lighter take on indulgence”, the Yogurt & Oat Bar contains only 134 calories, with the yogurt offering gut-healthy live cultures.

The bar – and category it creates – is launching just over 20 years since the company created a new type of chilled snacks with its ‘Rumblers’ range. This has since evolved into Nomadic’s best-selling line of Yogurt & Oat Cluster pots, which have similarly acted as a platform for the company’s focus on single-serve dairy.
