Odysea Rolling Out Greek Street Food Product In Sainsbury’s

Odysea, a leading provider of Mediterranean and Greek foods, has announced the launch of their Spinach and Feta Filo Rolls (also known as Spanakopita) in Sainsbury’s, marking the brand’s first venture into the food-to-go category. The launch is also the first of its kind for Sainsbury’s food-to-go offering.

Spanakopita-SainsburysTraditional Greek Spanakopita is a popular street food across the Mediterranean. Made with layers of filo pastry and filled with a balanced ratio of feta and spinach, this vegetarian-friendly option is made in Greece using an authentic recipe with extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) and sent to Sainsbury’s stores frozen, where they are then baked in-store.

Panos Manuelides, Founder of Odysea, said: “This is one more pioneering launch from Odysea, and it’s been one of my favourite projects yet. We have been trying for years to introduce Greek Pastries to the UK high street. A big thank you to the Odysea team, to our producers in Greece and to Sainsbury’s for running with this project.”

Odysea’s Spanakopita is rolling out in Sainsbury’s stores across the UK at £1.60 (RRP) in the food-to-go aisle.
