Palace Culture Secures First Major Retailer Listing

Organic plant-based cheese brand Palace Culture has announced its first major retailer listing.

The brand, which was recently acquired by The Compleat Food Group, is launching three of its cheese alternative products into Waitrose – Kimcheeze, Mouldy Goaty and Holy Smokes.

Palace-Culture-Plant-based-cheeseThe plant-based cheese category is worth around £174m but has come under scrutiny for a lack of products that match the flavour and texture of their dairy counterparts. Having experienced success with independent shops and distributors, Palace Culture claims Waitrose shoppers will welcome its plant-based cheeses, which are more of a match to their traditional equivalents.

Palace Culture’s Kimcheeze (120g, RRP £5.99), Mouldy Goaty (100g, RRP £5.99),) and Holy Smokes (120g, RRP £5.99) are rolling out in nearly 90 Waitrose stores.

Charlie Holland, Head of Marketing at Palace Culture, said: “Plant-based cheese is a fast-growing, but relatively untapped, market. There is consumer demand for a genuinely delicious product that doesn’t compromise on the taste and texture of the real thing, and that’s readily available at supermarkets. This is exactly what Palace Culture provides by producing really tasty cheese, that just so happens to be plant-based.

“Palace Culture is already award-winning, with multiple Great Taste Awards, and has seen great traction with independent shops and distributors. We’re now excited to launch the brand into Waitrose, so that even more people can experience truly incredible plant-based cheeses. Our three products are set to challenge the misconceptions around plant-based cheese, and we’re looking forward to continuing to support Palace Culture with even more listings in the pipeline.”
