Currently rolling out across the grocery channel, the sauces aim to appeal to shoppers looking for products that can help them to make plant-based meals quickly and easily at home.

Plantastic Creamy Pasta Sauces contain no artificial colours or preservatives, and are available in three flavours: Tomato & Chargrilled Pepper, Spicy Cajun Tomato and Caramelised Onion & Sweet Potato (MSRP: £2.79 – 350g).

Plant-based food is currently valued at £1.79bn and is estimated to reach £2bn by 2024. Premier Foods stated that with 31% of people believing that plant-based food doesn’t taste as good as non-plant-based, its Plantastic range was on a mission to tackle this perception with its expansion into the sauces category.

Hong Sim, brand director for plant-based food at Premier Foods, commented: “We have created this range of unique sauces which deliver creaminess, without the use of dairy, to ensure that plant-based consumers don’t have to compromise on taste.

“Our mission is to popularise plant-based by offering products that respond to the demand for great taste, convenience, and quality. We have done exactly that by introducing the brand into a new category in three flavours within the grocery sector. This new range aims to attract new customers into the cooking sauces category whilst offering a solution to those looking for plant-based products that will deliver on taste.”
