Remedy Kombucha Secures Category First

Remedy Kombucha has announced the availability of its Wild Berry and Raspberry Lemonade flavours in Asda stores and online (4 x 330ml; RRP. £5.50). The launch marks a kombucha category first as Remedy becomes the first kombucha brand to be available in the UK’s big five supermarkets (Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Asda and Waitrose).

Remedy-kombuchaWith launches also including Starbucks and WHSmith, and delivering a 77% growth, Remedy continues to lead the UK kombucha market, which is today worth almost £24m.

“With the recent addition of our Asda partnership, we’re thrilled that Remedy has become the first kombucha brand to feature in all five of the UK’s major supermarkets,” said Ian Hadley, Commercial Director at Remedy Drinks UK.

“The demand for functional drinks; and a shift in consumer attitudes towards healthier drinks has never been stronger. Our products offer an unrivalled taste with no sugar and with gut health benefits. This continues to see us go from strength to strength; and ultimately confirms our position as the signpost kombucha brand in the UK.”

Following the launch of Remedy Kombucha Wild Berry and Orange Squeeze multipacks into Sainsbury’s, the supermarket is also now increasing the product line to include a brand new 1L bottle format in Raspberry Lemonade and Ginger Lemon flavours (RRP. £4). This is the first launch of 1L bottles of Remedy Kombucha in the UK, highlighting the growing trend for larger consumption offerings of healthier drink alternatives.

Sainsbury’s is also launching Remedy’s new line extension into clean energy, Remedy Energy (4x330ml cans, RRP: £5.50). The drink, which will be available in Tropical Twist and Berry Blast flavours, provides a naturally caffeinated kick powered by green tea, raw green coffee bean extract and ginseng, made from Remedy’s proven kombucha base.
