Sheppy’s Adds New Flavour To Low Alcohol Cider Range

Somerset-based cider maker Sheppy’s is launching a new Low Alcohol Cider with Raspberry (0.5% ABV), the second low-alcohol cider in its range. The new cider will initially be available via the Sheppy’s webshop, as well as to the on-trade, in cases of 12 500ml bottles (RSP £21.50).

Sheppys-Low-Alcohol-CiderSheppy’s was one of the first cider brands to launch a low alcohol cider, and the latest NPD comes off the back of the success the brand has seen with its Low Alcohol Classic Cider in Tesco in the last 12 months, with sales increasing by 25% in 2022 and subsequently resulting in the listing with the retailer doubling.

Crafted to have the same flavour profile as Sheppy’s classic ciders, the new Low Alcohol Cider with Raspberry is made using a blend of traditional and dessert cider apples and pure raspberry juice.

David Sheppy, Managing Director of Sheppy’s, commented: “We are thrilled to be launching our latest Low Alcohol Cider with Raspberry and see our low-no range expand further. We are aware that 20% of cider drinkers are keen to see increased low-no alcohol varieties available and innovations in this space are important to maintain volume growth and keep shoppers interested in the category.

“Furthermore, our ciders with fruit consistently produce strong sales during the summer months, and so by combining two of our best performers ahead of the warmer months, we aim to provide retailers with an opportunity to tap into two key trends. Our Low Alcohol Cider with Raspberry offers all our craft credentials, flavour and excellent quality that Sheppy’s Cider is recognised for, just with a lower ABV of 0.5%.”
