Squeaky Bean Targeting More Mealtime Occasions

Ready to eat meat alternative brand Squeaky Bean is targeting more meal occasions with the launch of its first-ever sausage roll.

Squeaky-Bean-Snack-Sausage-RollsThe Squeaky Bean Snack Sausage Rolls come in packs of eight and offer vegans, vegetarians, and flexitarians a version of the popular meat-based snack.

The brand pointed to research showing an increase in the number of snacks consumers eat per day, with almost half (54%) looking to eat more plant-based options and 55% making a meal out of snacks on a weekly basis.

Squeaky Bean Eight Snack Sausage Rolls 160g (8x20g, RRP £2.75) will be available in Sainsbury’s nationwide from 3 May.

Becky Youseman, Marketing Controller at Squeaky Bean, which is part of The Compleat Food Group, said: “At Squeaky Bean, our goal is to make switching to vegan products an easy and natural choice by offering great tasting meat alternatives. We’ve successfully achieved this at lunchtime with our category-leading range of ready to eat slices and pieces, but we’re always looking at how we enter more categories and meal occasions. So, when we realised that there were limited options on the market when it came to premium meat mimetic sausage rolls, and a major demand from consumers, we saw a perfect opportunity for a Squeaky take on a well-loved classic.

“We’ve therefore wrapped up our incredible vegan sausage equivalent in a delicious puffy pastry for a tasty treat that works not only for lunchtime, but as a snacking solution or as part of a midweek dinner. This is an exciting addition to the Squeaky range, and just the beginning of our journey in exploring how we can offer even more mouth-watering vegan choices for a wider range of occasions.”
