Dermatologist developed sun and skincare brand Altruist is rolling out in over 250 Tesco stores this week.

Altruist-Sunscreen-Tesco179 of the stores will stock Altruist SPF 50 Sunscreen (100ml), Altruist SPF 50 Family Sun Spray (250ml), Altruist Anti-Redness & Pigmentation SPF 50 (50ml), Altruist Invisible Sunspray SPF 50 (200ml), Altruist Face Fluid SPF 50 (50ml), Altruist Primer SPF50 (30ml) and Altruist Moisturising Fluid SPF 50 (50ml). A further 74 will list Altruist SPF 30 (200ml).

Developed by Dr Andrew Birnie and his team, Altruist was launched as a people-before-profit venture ten years ago. The range is designed to offer affordable skincare in direct response to the rise in skin cancer in the UK and around the world.

The range includes SPF 30 and SPF 50 sunscreen products and a wide range of accessible skincare including Altruist Dry Skin Repair Cream, Altruist Moisturising Fluid 0.5% Hyaluronic Acid, Altruist Cleansing Foam 2% Salicyclic Acid, Altruist Hand Repair Cream with 10% Urea and Altruist Body Lotion with 6% Urea.

Dr Birnie commented: “I see and treat skin cancer patients every day, and the Altruist range was developed to help combat the increased incidence of skin cancer. I wanted to develop a low-cost, high-quality, range of products that removed the barriers to using SPF sun protection. We know that people use too little sunscreen because it is expensive, so we keep our prices as affordable as possible. This new listing will help even more people access our products and protect themselves from sun damage.”

Altruist gives 10p worth of sunscreen from every product sold to help improve the lives of vulnerable people with albinism in Africa.
