Made in Italy with authentic recipes and real ingredients, Sunny & Luna is on a mission to “make better-for-you alternatives to traditional Italian comfort foods more accessible to millions of households across the UK”.

Containing 50% vegetables and counting as one of the five a day, the three chilled gnocchi SKU’s launching into Sainsbury’s are Cauliflower Gnocchi made with fresh cauliflower, Spinach Gnocchi made with a blend of fresh spinach and cauliflower, and new Pumpkin Gnocchi made with pumpkin and cauliflower (RRP £4.25 – 350g pack).

The brand’s wider range, which includes Lentil Tagliatelle made with lentils, chickpeas and peas and Spinach Ravioli made with fresh spinach, is available at Ocado, Whole Foods, Planet Organic, Zapp, and independent delis and grocers across the UK.

Sunny & Luna was founded in 2022 by Milan-born foodie and ex-fashion model, Giulia Berretti, who spotted a gap in the market for authentic Italian pasta with a healthier twist. She said: “This Sainsbury’s launch takes Sunny & Luna from a challenger to a true UK household option.

“Growing up making pasta with my grandmother in Milan ignited my love for Italian food. Later, as a fashion model, I saw how carb-heavy foods like pasta were often demonised, especially among young women. Sunny & Luna was born to change that – to give people the Italian comfort food they love, with the nutrition they need to thrive. Getting that into millions of homes every week is a huge moment for our mission.

“Our entire range is made in Italy using authentic Italian recipes and real ingredients, with no preservatives, additives, or nasties. As a brand, we believe good food is more than just nourishment, it’s also about fuelling joy and fostering healthy lifestyles too.”
