Sweet Freedom Enters Functional Drinks Space With ‘First To Market’ Natural Sweetener

UK brand Sweet Freedom, known for its range of hot chocolates, syrups and spreads, is introducing a new line of sparkling waters this May under the name FIZZ.

Sweet-Freedom-fizz-drinksAvailable in four flavours – Lime & Mint, Raspberry & Cranberry, Mango & Mandarin, and Pineapple & Coconut – the drinks are free from artificial sweeteners, flavours, and refined sugar, with specially selected ingredients to support wellbeing.

The Sweet Freedom range also uses a pioneering cocoa juice as a natural sweetener.

Co-founder Deborah Pyner said: “Artificial sweeteners and ingredients have always been a no-go for us, and when we discovered the potential for sustainable cocoa juice as a natural sweetener, we were eager to be the first to bring it over to the UK. This is the part of the cocoa bean which usually gets discarded, so using it means the farmers we work with now get paid for an extra part of their harvest.”

The brand pointed to research which found that 65% of people who buy carbonated soft drinks say added health benefits would make them buy more often.

“These findings, alongside our extensive expertise in crafting products from all natural ingredients, has made transitioning into the functional drinks space a logical progression for us,” added Pyner.

The new range will be available on the brand’s website from 3 May – RSP: £1.59 single, £6 for a four pack, with 12 packs available for trade.
