Meat-free brand VFC is continuing its NPD drive with the launch of a range of fakeaway ready meals, market-first Chick*n Sausages, and a new chilled Chick*n Mince.
Rolling out in Sainsbury’s and Morrisons for the start of Veganuary, the VFC One Bag frozen ready meals are single-serve and can be pan-fried from freezer. The range, which is made with pea protein, includes Chick*n Fried Rice and Chick*n Curry (RRP £3.00), and has been developed to offer all the flavour of takeaway favourites in a convenient, meat-free format. VFC One Bags are gluten-free, high in protein, a source of fibre and offer one of the five a day.
Meanwhile, the Chick*n Sausages (RRP: £2.80) and Chick*n Mince (RRP £2.50) are launching in Asda this week. The sausages are pea-based and the mince is made with soy. Both products are protein-packed, gluten-free, low in saturated fat, and low in salt.
Alison Reilly, Head of Marketing for VFC, said: “Delivering on taste, health and convenience is fundamental to converting more people into meat-free alternatives. Our new VFC One Bag range, chilled Chick*n Sausages and Mince bring all these benefits to the table, appealing to a broader target consumer base across new meal occasions.”
