Violife, the UK’s leading plant-based alternative to cheese, has launched its latest product: Supreme Cheddarton.
It is claimed that the new product is set to “transform the plant-based alternative to cheddar cheese market” by providing consumers with the first alternative that’s a source of protein and contains 30% less fat than dairy cheddar.
Rolling out in Sainsbury’s, Ocado and Waitrose, Supreme Cheddarton 200g will also be listed in Asda stores from 1st July and in Morrisons from 16th July (RRP £2.95).
The product is said to deliver the flavour and texture cheddar-lovers crave, while aligning with evolving consumer preferences to switch to dairy-free alternatives.
The first plant-based alternative to cheddar cheese is said to be ideal for those with dietary preferences or restrictions. It is free from the top 14 allergens – including dairy, gluten, and nuts – while remaining free from artificial preservatives, non-GMO, and fortified with vitamin B12.
“This is a breakthrough moment for plant-based alternatives to cheese,” commented Monica Bordin, Head of Violife Global Brand & Violife North America. “With Supreme Cheddarton, we’re combining rich flavour, crave-worthy texture, and real nutritional benefits — all without compromise.”
“Our mission is to provide consumers with seamless, great-tasting plant-based options that don’t compromise on texture or flavour. Supreme Cheddarton is the result of extensive research and development, with consumer preferences at its core, offering a rich, crumbly, and indulgent alternative to dairy cheddar that is a good source of protein and 30% less fat than dairy cheddar. As category leaders, we continue to expand plant-based choices for retailers and food service providers with a strong innovation pipeline designed to meet evolving consumer demands.”
