Steve Fox, Booker’s Managing Director for Retail, is set to join Motor Fuel Group (MFG), the UK’s largest independent forecourt operator, in the same role.

Fox will take up the position at MFG on 1 September, with its retail, trading, operations and developments teams reporting to him. He will report directly to Jeremy Clarke, the group’s Chief Operating Officer.
Fox has over 30 years’ experience in food and convenience retailing. He started his career in operations with Safeway, before moving to Booker where he managed a six-fold increase in their Premier symbol group members. Fox then took on his current MD for Retail role and over the last year has been involved in the company’s merger with Tesco.
Clarke said: “This is key appointment for us as MFG drives ahead with strengthening its retail offering, pursues an ambitious retail development programme and builds upon our market leadership position.
“Steve brings a wealth of retail and wholesale experience to MFG together with an existing understanding of our business, having worked with us since May 2016 when we rolled out the Londis and Budgens shop formats across our network.”
MFG became the UK’s largest independent convenience forecourt retailer (over 900 sites) following its £1.2bn purchase of MRH last year.
