CJ Lang Appoints Business Development Manager

SPAR Scotland wholesaler and retailer CJ Lang & Son has strengthened its Independent Sales Team with the appointment of Ashleigh MacPherson as its new Business Development Manager, responsible for Glasgow, Central belt, Ayrshire and Dumfries.

Brian Straiton, the group’s Sales Director, said: “It is great to have secured the appointment of Ashleigh. She brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and leadership. This is a great addition for us as a business; it strengthens our team, and she joins us at a very exciting time as the business is continually moving forward with energy and pace.

Currently, we have over 330 SPAR stores in Scotland, and just over 200 of these are independent retailers. Our strategy for this year is to grow our SPAR Scotland business in recruiting new retailers, coupled with developing and growing our existing retailers.”

MacPherson added: “I am excited and delighted to have joined the business. I have worked in the industry for a decade, but longing for this new, fresh challenge with SPAR Scotland. I have been keeping a close eye on them, and they have really grown in the last few years and picked up ‘SWA Best Symbol Group’ for a 3rd year in a row earlier this year.

“I am delighted to be playing a part in the success of SPAR Scotland and a family business with such a strong heritage.”
