Co-op Expands Meal Deal Menu To Broaden Appeal

Co-op has added its in-store bakery range to its ‘meal deal’ for the first time as part of a trial designed to extend the retailer’s ‘on the go’ value proposition and the appeal of its offer.

Co-op-meal-dealThe trial will run for 12 weeks across Co-op stores nationwide and will see a range of bakery lines available as part of its meal deal, as a side/snack. The convenience retailer stated that the move aimed to drive frequency of shop and meet the growing need for ‘on the go’ meal solutions beyond the traditional lunchtime occasion, particularly breakfast.

The Co-op’s standard meal deal includes a main, side and drink at £3.50 for members and £4 for non-members. Meanwhile, its premium meal costs £5 for members and £5.50 for non-members.

Breakfast in-store bakery lines such as All Butter Croissants and Bakery Apple Crown with Almond Danish Pastry are amongst those included in both the retailer’s standard and premium meal deals.
