Co-op is further expanding its grocery delivery reach via a new partnership with Zoom 1Hr Delivery.
The tie-up will enable the roll-out of the society’s online store across Wales and Welsh/English border towns, whilst increasing the number of delivery slots available for shoppers.
Orders placed online are picked from local Co-op stores and delivered on behalf of the retailer by Zoom in as little as one hour. Customers can choose from around 4,500 products and track their deliveries in real time.
The new partnership is going live in more than 50 towns and cities in the region.
The convenience retailer launched its own online shop in March 2019 and has accelerated its roll-out this year as demand for online deliveries grew during the pandemic. Co-op stated that it was now on track to offer online shopping from more than 700 of its stores around the UK by the end of the year through its own online shop and with partners such as Deliveroo and Buymie.
Matt Arrigonie, Co-op’s Online Operations Manager, said: “We continue to look for new ways to innovate and expand access to our products and services to deliver a truly compelling offer for consumers. By collaborating with partners we can offer further availability, flexibility and choice to meet community shopping needs for on-demand convenience.”
