Co-op Wholesale has announced a new long-term contract with NP Group, a North West-based independent convenience store operator.
Owned and operated by Neil Patel, NP Group runs six Nisa fascia sites across the region, including Manchester, Darwen, Ilkley, Colne and Castleford.
The new agreement builds on a multi-year relationship between NP Group and Co-op Wholesale.
“As an independent retailer, you’re never short of options – and it’s fair to say that other symbol groups were very keen to bring us on board,” said Patel.
“But when you look at what Co-op Wholesale offers – from the strength of their own label, logistics, and fresh food proposition – it’s clear they are building a wholesale model that truly supports growth. That reassurance and vision was what made this a simple decision in the end. I’m confident that with Co-op Wholesale as our long-term partner, NP Group is in the best place to thrive.”
Paul Webster, Partnerships & Sales Director at Co-op Wholesale, added: “We’re delighted that Neil and the NP Group team have chosen to commit to a long-term future with Co-op Wholesale. NP Group is a fantastic example of ambitious independent retailing, with stores that are at the heart of their local communities.
“This agreement demonstrates how our offer – built on quality own brand, leading logistics and an unbeatable fresh proposition – is helping independent retailers plan for growth. We look forward to supporting Neil and his teams to achieve even greater success.”
