Henderson Group Implements Labelling System to Support Natasha’s Law Regulations

Henderson Group, the owner of the SPAR, EUROSPAR, and ViVO retail brands in Northern Ireland, and Applied Data Corporation (ADC), a provider of store operations platforms built for grocery and convenience retailers, have announced a new partnership.

Henderson_Group_Natashas_LawSpecifically, Henderson will utilise ADC’s fresh item management platform for recipe management and label printing. One area of focus for the deal surrounds the Natasha Law regulations set to impact UK food retailers starting 1 October 2021. This new allergen law requires that pre-packed food for direct sale clearly display and emphasise allergen ingredient information (i.e., bolded text, underlined text, or text in a different colour).

ADC’s FreshIQ platform will enable the Henderson Group to stay compliant with the new regulations. The platform is a cloud-based solution that includes recipe management to identify and track necessary ingredients and nutritional information and label printing to support design, customisation, and legally compliant printing of fresh food labels.

“As a food retailer, it is our responsibility to provide customers with the information they need regarding allergens and the food they consume,” said Darren Nickels, Henderson Group.

“The nature of food retail is complex, and it is critical that the technology we use helps us build, track, and maintain legally compliant recipes across our organisation.”
