Nisa Appoints Head Of Partner Services

Nisa has appointed Kim Clarkson as Head of Partner Services to help drive forward the group’s long-term business plans.

Reporting to the group’s Managing Director, Peter Batt, Clarkson will be responsible for “shaping the future direction of the format and development proposition, ensuring continuity of Nisa’s high level of service through stock control, logistics and supply chain functions, as well as delivering a best-in-class partner support service”.

Clarkson joined Nisa in 2017 and has over 20 years of experience within the retail and wholesale sector. Most recently, she held the position of Head of Cost to Serve at Nisa, where she was responsible for identifying ways to improve profitability through proposition, network or customer-facing activity. Before that, she was head of fresh, frozen and direct to store. Prior to joining Nisa, Clarkson spent 18 years at Sainsbury’s in various head of trading roles, including meat, fish and poultry, fresh food, and in-store bakery.

Clarkson will be supported in her role by Karen Hopkinson, who has recently been appointed to head up its independent supply chain and logistics network. Before taking on this role, Hopkinson spent time in various senior operational and category roles at Co-op, Iceland, Welcome Break and latterly Morrisons. The group noted that since coming into role, she has been fundamental in delivering a step change in availability.

Batt said: “Both Kim and Karen bring a wealth of experience across wholesale, retail and logistics, and I’m delighted to announce their new roles within the business. They have both played a key part in strengthening both the Co-op and Nisa proposition and will be instrumental in helping to shape and deliver on our ambitions to be the wholesale partner of choice.

“Our retailers are at the heart of the decisions we make, and the work Kim will be leading, alongside an enhanced management team and the strong backing from Co-op, will set us in good stead to deliver our long-term ambitions. I’m excited about what the future holds for Nisa.”
