Joining from her most recent role as Retail Transformation Director at the Post Office, Secretan will be responsible for “setting the strategic direction” to deliver against the company’s 2030 plan, whilst being accountable for growth objectives through recruitment and retention across its retail and wholesale partners.

Secretan’s previous experience includes multiple roles in Franchise, Retail Operations and Transformation at the Post Office. This included developing a two-year franchise business plan, and creating a new business unit and operating model.

Before her time at the Post Office, Secretan was Director of Retail Franchise and Corporate Partnerships at Costa Coffee. She also worked for Capita and Telefonica O2 UK in a number of commercial and operational roles.

Peter Batt, Managing Director of Nisa, commented: “I’m delighted to welcome Katie to the team, and I’m excited for the integral role she’ll play in delivering on our ambitions to be the wholesale partner of choice. Our retailers are at the heart of the decisions we make, and the experience Katie will bring, along with the work she’ll be leading, are going to be instrumental in how we deliver our long-term ambitions.”

Secretan, who will start in her new role in mid-January 2024, added: “My priority will be to lead the commercial strategy and deliver on the ambitious growth plans, with the support of the wider Co-op Group, this will be a very exciting time for the Wholesale Retail market”.

Last week, it was reported that Nisa was dropping the Co-op own-label criteria and tiered system from its Fresh Rewards rebate scheme as part of moves to simplify the model for retailers.
