Snappy Shopper, the q-commerce technology platform for independent convenience retailers, is rolling out a 24/7 delivery capability nationwide following successful trials.
The functionality gives convenience stores the option to offer local customers delivery of essential items 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Snappy Shopper stated that the technology breakthrough positions it as the first convenience-led platform to bring 24/7 grocery delivery to market at scale.
Mike Callachan, CEO of Snappy Shopper, commented: “This is a huge step forward for independent retail. We’ve developed and tested the technology, and now we’re rolling it out to help local stores meet real, everyday needs around the clock. We’re proud to lead this innovation for the benefit of both retailers and their communities.”
The technology has already delivered good results for early adopters. Girish’s Premier Barmulloch in Glasgow became the first store in Scotland to offer 24-hour grocery delivery using the new technology. Since launching the service in February 2025, store owner Girish Jeeva has reportedly seen a surge in overnight orders.
In addition, Girish’s Premier Barmulloch recently hit a significant milestone, surpassing £100,000 in GMV in a 30-day period, driven in part by overnight trade.
Girish said: “We knew there was an appetite for overnight delivery, but the response has blown us away. We saw 25 orders on the very first night. Now, we are serving a new stream of regular customers overnight, often buying essentials like bread, milk, eggs, and snacks.
“We’ve even installed a secure back door for drivers to make overnight fulfilment safe and efficient. It’s been a game-changer.”
