SPAR has started rolling out its ‘Natural’ range in the UK aimed at “customers searching for products with added health and wellness credentials”.
The 15-strong range includes pasta, fruit and nut bars, corn cakes, tortilla chips, block chocolate, olive oil, soya milk, and coffee capsules.
The symbol group highlighted that the offer would appeal to shoppers looking to address allergies or follow certain diets, including vegan, vegetarian, organic, lactose-free, sugar-free, honey-free, gluten-free, wheat-free, dairy-free, egg-free, wild-grown and allergen-free.
Amrit Rebello, SPAR UK Senior Brand Manager, said: “One of the top priorities for consumers in 2021 is healthy eating. This includes all types of free-from food and drink products.
“The SPAR Natural range provides customers with better choices that encompass free-from, organic, and Fairtrade. We know this new international range perfectly meets the needs of shoppers looking for health and wellness products. SPAR stores will benefit from the incremental impulse and core grocery sales opportunity that this range brings.”
The launch of the SPAR Natural range across selected stores in England, Wales and Scotland is being supported in-store by POS, SPAR Radio, and leaflets, alongside social media activity.
Developed in 2018 by SPAR International to meet the demand for healthier food options, the Natural sub-brand is already well established in SPAR stores across Europe.
NAM Implications:
- ‘Free-from, organic, and Fairtrade’ presses most of the buttons…
- Fingers crossed…
