Aldi Invests In More Price Cuts

Aldi is ramping up the battle for Christmas shoppers with an investment of £12m to lower the prices of popular festive lines.

Prices are being reduced by an average of over 20% on more than 180 Christmas products, including stuffing, chocolate and prosecco, as well as frozen party food.

The discounter noted that it has already lowered the prices of almost 300 products in the past few months as cost pressures in the food industry start to ease. And last month, Aldi announced its ‘Christmas Price Lock’, which means the cost of key festive lines, including turkey crowns, pigs in blankets, Christmas puddings and vegetables, remain the same as they were in 2022.

“This latest investment is part of our continued efforts to make great quality food affordable for all, from party food treats to iconic Christmas essentials,” said Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK.

“We want everyone to be able to enjoy the festive season, so we’re doing all we can to keep our prices low this Christmas – just as we always do.”
