Aldi UK To Offer Vouchers To Shoppers Who Share Its Birthday

Aldi is celebrating the 35th anniversary of its first store opening in the UK with a giveaway for shoppers who share the same birthday.

The discounter, which made its UK debut on 5th April 1990, is inviting anyone born on 5th April, irrespective of the year, to enter a draw to claim an Aldi voucher. 35 shoppers will then be selected at random to receive a £35 voucher.

“We’re incredibly proud to be celebrating 35 years of Aldi in the UK and believe that everyone should have access to an Aldi store nearby,” said Rebecca Heley, Communications Director at Aldi UK.

“As we mark this milestone and reflect on how much Aldi has grown since its very first store opening, we wanted to ensure our celebrations were shared with those across Britain who have been on this journey with us.

“It’s our way of saying thank you to our loyal shoppers by making their birthdays extra special this year. We hope our birthday twins enjoy this small gift from us and have a fantastic celebration.”

Aldi opened its first UK store in the Stechford area of Birmingham in 1990. Today, the discounter has more than 1,050 sites, with plans to reach 1,500 over the coming years.
