‘Leafy Blinders’ To Star In Aldi’s Christmas Ad Campaign

Aldi is tapping into the popularity of the recent British gangster TV series Peaky Blinders for its 2019 Christmas advertising campaign.

A 10-second trailer (see below) shows Russell Sprout and his gang of ‘Leafy Blinders’ ominously warning they’re here to “take back Christmas”. It also teases the return of the discounter’s popular animated character Kevin the Carrot.

The retailer has yet to confirm when its main ad will debut.

Aldi’s comical festive ads over the last few years have proved popular with consumers and helped the chain grab market share during the all-important Christmas trading period.

Asda and Iceland launched their Christmas campaigns over the weekend, whilst Amazon’s festive advert (see below) will officially air on TV tonight during Coronation Street
