Based on the Eurocentral industrial estate in Motherwell, the 58,000 sq. m. facility is the discounter’s largest in the UK to date. It will service 99 existing Lidl stores across Scotland and the 12 new stores planned to open over the next three years.
Lidl GB’s regional director for Scotland, Ross Millar, said: “We’re very excited to be celebrating the opening of our new Eurocentral distribution centre, which represents a pivotal moment in our ambitious growth plans across Scotland.”
The company, which currently has over 770 stores across the UK, also confirmed that it plans to open a further four distribution warehouses by 2025 in Bolton, Peterborough, Luton and Leeds.
