Lidl Reveals Best Times For Christmas Shopping

Lidl GB has revealed the best times for customers to do their Christmas shopping to avoid the crowds.

The discounter pointed to data from last year that showed that the busiest times in its store were around midday, with the highest levels of footfall being recorded between 12pm and 2pm. It suggests that customers who want to miss the midday rush should instead opt to shop between 8am and 10am, or 6pm onwards, times that have been found to be the quietest.

The Friday before Christmas historically sees the most footfall, and Lidl expects the same trend this year, with Friday 22nd December expected to be its busiest day.

Meanwhile, the discounter confirmed it will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, with many of its stores also shut for Boxing Day.

NAM Implications:
  • There you go…
  • Potentially crowded slots highlighted…
  • (and this year, discounter Christmas shopping will be busy)
  • …but even slight timing shifts will ease congestion for all.
